Shimmer3 EMG Unit
Individual SensorsThe Shimmer3 EMG (Electromyogram) unit provides a configurable digital front-end, optimized for the measurement of physiological signals for EMG.
The Shimmer3 EMG sensor measures and records the electrical activity associated with muscle contractions, assesses nerve conduction, muscle response in injured tissue, activation level, or can be used to analyze and measure the bio-mechanics of human or animal movement.
Description
New users to Shimmer please visit our Consensys EMG development kit page for purchasing Shimmer3 EMG. The development kit will contain all items required to collect EMG data with Shimmer.
The Shimmer3 EMG (Electromyogram) unit provides a configurable digital front-end, optimized for the measurement of physiological signals for EMG.
The Shimmer3 EMG sensor measures and records the electrical activity associated with muscle contractions, assesses nerve conduction, muscle response in injured tissue, activation level, or can be used to analyze and measure the bio-mechanics of human or animal movement. The Shimmer3 EMG sensor is non-invasive (Surface) EMG and therefore is a representation of the activity of the whole muscle. It’s an efficient wireless solution for access to a host of muscle, gait, and posture data analysis.
• Two channels of EMG data
• EMG data can be measured simultaneously with 10DOF kinematic data
10 DoF IMU motion signals can also be captured with this unit to allow for further context if desired. All signals can be measured simultaneously and in real-time. With our ConsensysPRO software data can be streamed for live visualization, while raw data can also be logged to an SD card and accessed. ConsensysPRO is sold separately. An annual license can be purchased from our e store here.
EMG:
The EMG Unit also contains ECG functionality as standard. EMG and ECG data cannot be measured simultaneously from a single unit.
ECG:
The Shimmer3 ECG (Electrocardiogram) sensor records the pathway of electrical impulses through the heart muscle, and can be recorded on resting and ambulatory subjects, or during exercise to provide information on the heart’s response to physical exertion.
• Five-wire, four-lead ECG solution, measuring bipolar limb leads and user’s choice of V1 – V6
• Digital interface includes test signal generation for validation purposes
• Respiration demodulation from ECG data and lead-off detection
Accessories included:
- Biophysical 9″ leads (x5)
- 1x Waist Strap
- 1x Wrist Strap
Note: EMG Electrodes and Alcohol Swabs not included.
