Dublin, 21st April , 2016, – Shimmer, global leading provider of wearable sensor technology, has announced the release of the first of its kind, Group Quantification System- NeuroLynQ. The new wearable sensor system will be available to pre-order from today, providing neuro marketers, neuroscientists and neuro research specialists with a 36 sensor system that can provide unprecedented insight into the emotional reactions of a large group of people.
Already in use by one of the world’s leading US based consumer research and buyer specialists, NeuroLynQ has provided its client with an end-to-end Group Quantification solution that is focused on visualization of live streamed biophysical data from a group of up to 36 people. Not only is NeuroLynQ suitable for consumer marketing applications, but it can also be used for concept testing, user experience testing and discovery of research methods for driving emotional behaviour.
Globally, there is a significant growth in the field of science which identifies how people think, behave and what makes them purchase particular brands or products. With 95% of the decisions that people make based on emotions, Shimmer is at the forefront of providing the tools that better identify how Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) and Electrocardiography (ECG) are used to isolate how groups of people can have subtle reactions to stimuli.
NeuroLynQ comes with a full suite of up to 36 best in class hardware sensors, combining GSR and ECG data within a single wrist-worn device, accompanied by powerful, yet easy to use software. NeuroLynQ allows the visualization of GSR & heart rate data to be collected both in real-time with event annotation capability or stored for post-session processing and analysis.
Skin conductance is one of the most important and sensitive measures for emotional arousal and originates from the activation of the sweat gland. What makes it a valuable metric in neuromarketing is that it is not under cognitive control but modulated by autonomic sympathetic activity. NeuroLynQ’s single channel GSR has been validated for use in bio-medical oriented research applications as well as emotional engagement and psychological arousal experiments. Similarly, when combined and synchronized with Shimmers two channel ECG outlining the electrical activity of the heart, NeuroLynQ offers a complete delivery of a neuromarketing wearable sensing system.
This announcement follows on from the development of Shimmer’s core software platform Consensys, which is designed for adaptive human data collection and synchronization launched mid 2015. Shimmer has been previously recognized as the industry’s leading wireless body sensor platform by Frost & Sullivan in 2013 and received the prestigious Product Leadership Award and 2014 Irish Times innovation award winner for its highly flexible body worn wireless sensing platform.
