Shimmer is excited to announce that it will once again be in attendance at the 36th Annual International conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology society (EMBC) in Chicago, IL.
As always EMBC 2014 will treat an expansive range of topics including Neural Engineering and Rehabilitation Engineering as well as Biomedical Signal Processing and Biomechanics. These and many other topics will all be examined under the overall theme of this year’s conference which is “Discovering, Innovating, and Engineering Future Biomedicine”
Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE
Another feature of this year’s show in Chicago will be the announcement of the Finalist Teams for Qualcomm’s Tricorder XPRIZE. Shimmer is an official program partner of the Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE which sees teams compete in a $10 million global competition to stimulate innovation and integration of precision diagnostic technologies.
The conference program will consist of high-profile plenary lectures, exciting keynote speeches, oral and poster sessions, and as well as industry exhibits. Attendees this year will also be able to avail of a new information sharing and networking conference system. This will allow presenters and exhibitors to distribute materials electronically for attendees to access them via their mobile devices.
What to expect from Shimmer – EMBC 2014
Shimmer will be present at booth number 26, where members of the team will demonstrate Shimmer’s full range of wireless sensors. In alignment with the innovative conference theme Shimmer staff will also demo the all new Shimmer3 platform as well as our expertise in wearable sensing system development.
